BETA Vodka is the first offering form Lapford based distillery, Spirits of Yeo.
With our aim to be sustainable and support local farmers our emphasis is on locally sourced ingredients. We wanted to ensure we master the craft from start to finish, that's why the same love and dedication goes into our fermentation, we didn't want to be the same as of others that's why Spirits of Yeo start with raw ingredients from the beginning, no neutral Spirit purchased we start from the beginning from field to bottle is our moto for this superior Vodka.
BETA gets its name from the sugar beet base (latin pronounced 'Bee-Tah' but however you pronounce it.. you've tasted the rest, now taste the best... BETA Vodka)
The sugar beet was handpicked from a field just over 2 miles from the distillery, over one long sticky summer, the sugar beet were hand stripped, cleaned, cut and cooked before pressing to extract the sweet base of natural sugars before the ferment could begin, the sugar beet underpins BETA's distinctive flavor.
Once ferment complete the distillation process began thousands of litres were stripped in the first distillation, we then complete two further high proof distillations only saving the 'hearts' of the run before proofing to the 41% using Tarka Springs water and then 5 times active carbon filtering before bottling.
This is spirit making, the way it was meant to be.
